1. Who we are
The Service is operated by HRIM Center — Hanuman Research Institute of Meditation, a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organisation based in Stockton, California, USA. We are guided by Amma Sri Karunamayi and dedicated to meditation, Vedic learning, and selfless service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account or use authenticated features. Users between 13 and 17 should have a parent or guardian's consent.
3. Your account
- You may sign in with Google, Apple (when available), or your phone number.
- You are responsible for any activity under your account. If you suspect unauthorised access, email hrimcenter@gmail.com right away.
- We may suspend or remove an account if it is used to violate these Terms or harm the community.
4. Acceptable use
When you use the Service, you agree not to:
- impersonate another person, organisation, or HRIM staff member;
- post unlawful, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, or harmful content in community features;
- attempt to access another user's account or any non-public part of the Service;
- interfere with the Service's operation, scrape it at scale, or run automated bots without permission;
- use the Service for commercial advertising or political campaigning;
- violate any applicable law, including export control and sanctions laws.
5. Content you submit
You retain ownership of anything you submit (e.g. community posts, sankalpas you write, profile photos). By submitting, you grant HRIM Center a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, store, and distribute it within the Service for the purpose of running the feature you submitted it to.
You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to submit content. We may remove content that violates §4 or applicable law.
6. Donations
HRIM Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit. Donations made via the Service are processed by independent payment providers (Stripe, PayPal, UPI, Zelle, Venmo). HRIM does not store your card or bank details — see our Privacy Policy for details.
Donations are tax-deductible in the United States to the fullest extent permitted by law. Tax receipts are issued via email. Donations are generally non-refundable; if you believe a contribution was made in error, contact us within 30 days and we will work with you in good faith.
7. Events & bookings
RSVPs, waitlist positions, and pooja bookings are coordinated on a first-come, first-served basis. Capacity for in-person events may be limited; HRIM may cancel or reschedule an event for safety or operational reasons. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you in advance.
8. Spiritual content disclaimer
Astrology insights, japa & pooja recommendations, panchang, Vedic teachings, and other spiritual content offered through the Service are provided for personal devotional and educational purposes only. They are not a substitute for medical, psychological, financial, or legal advice. Please consult a qualified professional for any health or other serious concern.
9. Intellectual property
The Service, including its design, code, brand marks, deity photography, and curated educational content, is owned by HRIM Center or our licensors. You may use the Service for personal, non-commercial spiritual practice. You may not copy, redistribute, or use HRIM materials commercially without written permission.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, HRIM Center, its trustees, officers, employees, and volunteers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) US$50 or (b) the amount you donated to HRIM in the 12 months before the claim arose.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold HRIM Center harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or misuse of the Service.
13. Termination
You may close your account at any time via /account/delete. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or if required by law. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (e.g. §9, §10, §11) will survive.
14. Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Service will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in San Joaquin County, California, and you consent to that venue.
Nothing in this section limits your statutory rights as a consumer in your jurisdiction.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. Material changes will be posted here, and we will notify signed-in users at least 7 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the new Terms.
